This coffee is sweet, fruity, chocolatey and caramel, bright, sweet, wonderful, aromatic.
This coffee smells as amazing as it tastes. The beans carry the coffee equivalent of a designer label, being marked SHB (strictly hard bean) a feature of top notch arabica coffee and all the beans are grown in estates at heights of over 2000 meters, the main one being the Orosi estate in northern San Jose. Coffee has been grown here for over 400 years. The beans mature more slowly than others, because of the very high altitudes and this lends itself to a prized acidity, a mild flavour and a curious piquancy. Costa Rican coffees are much loved at breakfast time – probably because of the aromas permeating towards sleepy heads on pillows!
